The Instrument
The DialDendro allows very precise measurements
of changes in the circumference of tree stems over
short periods of time.
The vernier of the dial-disk allows readings
as small as 1/10 mm.
The Dial Dendro can register an increase
in circumference of 80 mm, before it is
necessary to reset the dial.
The steel straps may be linked together
to fit different diameters.
Their ends are fastened to the Dial-Dendro.
The Expansion of the stem causes a movement
of the vernier, which is kept tight by spring , and
the length of the steel strap does not change during
the observation period.

●測定器を取り付けたらスケール上の最初の値を記録しておきます。
